Job Description
Early Childhood/Preschool Music Teacher
Wee Bop, established in 2005 and a leader in early childhood music programming, is currently accepting applications for a part-time, early childhood music teacher beginning fall 2024.
Our Philosophy:
We take a playful and active approach to teaching young children. We support children’s natural musicality through singing, dancing, action songs, exploring instruments and other props (scarves, ribbons and parachute). Our music program encourages and promotes self-expression, large and small motor skill development, social skills and language growth, school readiness as well as a love for music.
Responsibilities include:
Introducing small groups of children, ages 0-5, and their adults to the world of music using songs, simple instruments, and a variety of instructional materials, resources, and experiences.
Potentially prepare and lead an annual holiday program and other unit wrap up parties or concerts.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in an early childhood education setting (Music teacher or ECFE)
- Be playful, personally engaging and friendly
- Possess excellent communication skills and able to build relationships with children, parents and staff at learning centers
- Feel comfortable working with groups of children, ages 0-5
- Possess strong vocal/singing skills
- Play ukulele or guitar or open to learning
- Work independently as a teaching consultant and feel comfortable creating lesson plans
- Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel around metro area
Preferred:
- Musical or performance background preferred (music or theatre degree ideal but not required)
