Traveling Daycare/Preschool Music Teacher

Wee Bop, established in 2005 and a leader in early childhood music programming, is currently accepting applications for a part-time, traveling daycare/preschool music teacher beginning fall 2023.

Our Philosophy:

We take a playful and active approach to teaching young children. We support children’s natural musicality through singing, dancing, action songs, exploring instruments and other props (scarves, ribbons and parachute). Our music program encourages and promotes self-expression, large and small motor skill development, social skills and language growth, school readiness as well as a love for music.

Responsibilities include:

Introducing small groups of children, ages 0-5, to the world of music using songs, simple instruments, and a variety of instructional materials, resources, and experiences.

Potentially prepare and lead an annual holiday program and other unit wrap up parties or concerts.

Qualifications:

• Must be personally engaging and friendly
• Must feel comfortable working with groups of children, ages 0-5
• Must possess strong vocal skills; playing an instrument (guitar or ukulele) is a plus
• Must be able to work independently as a teaching consultant and possess good communication skills as a representative of Wee Bop
• Experience teaching in an early childhood education setting

Preferred:

• Musical or performance background (music or theatre degree ideal but not required)
